Challenge #112. Everything's coming up roses and rosettes.

We're down a couple of Poobahs this week - the East Coast of the U.S. is making the acquaintance of Hurricane Irene and we already don't like her.
Please keep all of the people in the path of this storm in your thoughts and prayers!

Yep, this Irene is certainly putting a real damper on fun right now
But let's try and think ROSE-Y thoughts
Happy days
Good weather
Love all around us
There?  Isn't THAT better?
This week our theme is to create with
ROSES
or
ROSETTES
Simple as that!

Rosemary here and I made a couple of projects for this challenge. First up is a wreath of roses.  I tried making only white roses using pearly paper and then added glitter - the photo doesn't show it but it's rather elegant and glittery in real life - I might swap out the ribbon for different occasions.  (there's about 40 large roses and I was able to make them in a couple of hours)

Next up is an anniversary card with more handmade roses (these little tiny ones can be a buster to make, but I think they're worth the effort).

Finally, had to make some rosettes - and why not get a jump on Fall?  (if you would like to know more about these projects, I'll try to get a post up, I may lose power so it might not be immediately)(and I apologize for the less than stellar photographs)

Gini here -   Oooh I so wanted to create something I thought Rosemary would like to have. Well I crafted myself right into a pickle trying to make it because I was SO outside my comfort zone. Eeeep.
When I rummaged about in my stash I realised I had a distinct lack of roses apart from a set of very pretty rose stamps which I had won and that I thought I would never use, but have now used them twice so that just goes to show what a dud my crystal ball is. What no psychic powers? Nope.
Materials used listed on my blog.

Electra here -  Everyone loves flowers right?  If I met someone who didn't like flowers, I would not go to his/her house for soup and sandwiches.  Not a chance.  Do you ever watch those TV shows where brides compete to have the most gorgeous wedding decor?  Well, sometimes there is a bride who doesn't like flowers.  She'll use peanuts, or motorcycle parts, or, well, you get the picture.  I wouldn't go to her wedding.  Not that I was invited.  But I wouldn't.  So there.
Here's mine:

No flowers were hurt in the making of this LO.

Deena here - This is my roses and rosette card done with as many as I felt I could stick on one poor little card base ;)  I made the spiral roses and just love that rosebud ribbon...can't get enough of that stuff...I used some mists and some stickles to bling it up a little...not sure if you can tell from the pics though?

Kristen Here:
I made this card (and thought I posted it yesterday, but it disappeared for some reason unbeknownst to me)... so here it is again.  I made the 3 roses, 2 with ribbon and tinfoil, and 1 out of paper.  The wedding cards are Wordles that I made out of Corinthians verses on love.  The stamp I used was A Muse.

You have until the end of Saturday 10 September to join in with your fabulous creation celebrating roses and rosettes. Add your blog post address to Mr Linky below.
If you would like to join in with a previous challenge we've set (life happens and lateness is absolutely fine, we don't mind a bit) just add your blog post address to Mr Linky below. Please make sure your blog post refers to the previous challenge you are entering so we don't get confused.
We look forward to visiting you!

I finally got my card to post and there it was about 10 times and about 100 times larger than the screen. I don't know what my issue is today or last night. My goodness. Sorry for mine being so late!

Rosemary, I received the copy of Papercrafts magazine from you today. (I'll bet it got caught in Irene!). What fun, thank you so much. I went through it quickly and now I'm drooling... Need more time! Thank you so much.
