155 - On A Bicycle Built For Two

On a Bicycle Built for Two

Hi all you bike-riders (and/or non-bike-riders)!

Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do.
Does anyone out there remember that old song?  That's what I've been humming lately, for some strange reason.

Electra here- Right now, it's a white out, outside.
Yes, I said a whiteout.
For those of you who don't know, a whiteout is such a bad snowstorm that you cannot see anything but white.  Hence, the term whiteout.
(so sad)
So, it seemed to me that a nice warm ride down a country lane is in order.

I didn't so so far as to make a summer LO, but autumn seemed to fill the bill for my need to warmth and sunshine.

We're inviting you to create something to do (even remotely) with bikes, trikes, and some such modes of transportation.  Or something to do with a song from the 20's.  Or something that makes you happy.  You decide.
Whatever you do decide to make, please link it up here by May 5th.  We can hardly wait to see what you create!
Have fun and stay warm!!

Deena here:

sorry for the "gawdy"ness of this card, but it is really hard to craft from boxes and I just grabbed what I could find to put together this "creation"...all of the papers are scraps and I was so excited to find a bike stamp in the first box that I looked in...the sentiment says "you're Wheelie great"....hopefully in the next little while I will be able to get to more of my stuff and come up with a bit better projects...but for now...this is what you get ;)

Rosemary here and I love to bicycle, especially out on the C&O Canal with my husband. Beautiful sights and happy memories.  I had to have this Hero Arts bicycle stamp oh about a year ago and then promptly used it....er...once.  Okay, so this challenge could not have come at a better time, get out thos.  I made a bookmark (more zentangles!)

 A birthday card
and a thinking of you card (and I'm still in a brights mood too!)
I stamped the bicycles on the cards and envelope using reinkers on a baby wipe for a multicolored watercolor feel.  Messy but fun and I like the effect.

You have until the end of Saturday 4 MAY to join in with your fabulous creation by creating with bicycles. Add your blog post address to Mr Linky below.
If you would like to join in with a previous challenge we've set (life happens and lateness is absolutely fine, we don't mind a bit) just add your blog post address to Mr Linky below. Please make sure your blog post refers to the previous challenge you are entering so we don't get confused.
We look forward to visiting you!

Challenge #154 - Color Challenge

Rosemary  here and I'm challenging you with a color challenge, open up your

Split Personality

Create using a palette that is either all bright colors or pastels

Ever find that people associate a particular style or color with your creations?  Do you sometimes find yourself in a bit of a color rut? (Yeah me either.  LOL)

Seriously though, I'm kind of a safe bet to use soft, gentle vintage pastels.  It's definitely a favorite for me.  So, for this challenge I'm creating using rich, deep vibrant shades.  Trying to break the mold a wee bit.

My first project is a series of zentangle bookmarks I am making for Art Abandonment, a group I found on Facebook that encourages artists to create and then anonymously leave their work to be found and enjoyed.  So I kicked my zentangles up a notch with color.  Distress colors to be exact.

 A little closer look

My second project to share with you is a tag for my art journal.  I love suns, I must have five stamps of suns  - they make me think warmth and joy.  So why not make a fiery tag for a new season!  We've got resist stamping, tissue tape, ephemera, and dyed ribbon.

So, feel like breaking out of your color rut?  Get out those colors you tend to ignore and have some fun creating with them. Then share your beautiful projects with us here!

Electra here: Rosemary's besautiful tags are so elegant.
Nothing even remotely elegant about mine.
It's a family portrait.

Right.

You have until the end of Saturday 20 APRIL to join in with your fabulous creation by making a card for a charity. Add your blog post address to Mr Linky below.
