Challenge #138. Me and my Camera.

Electra  here
 I love Photography.
In fact, when my beloved camera fell in the lake,
it was like my life flashed before my eyes.
My daughter, who was not very old at the time,
knew how upset I was and she offered to give me her paycheck to help replace it.
(What a sweetie)
Insurance, however, took care of it.
So,
I LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY.
That's just the way it is.

Do you have a camera?  Do you use it?
Or, in lieu of taking pictures yourself, is there a photo that was taken by someone else with a camera, that you just HAD TO scrapbook? That counts too.

For those artsy types who are busy making wonderful things, just take a photo of those wonderful things and show it off to us.
Or just make something wonderful with images you have gotten from the great Google God.
A camera was used with them. after all.
Just remember to give credit where credit is due.

My point is, you have NO EXCUSE for not playing along with us this time:

We can hardly wait to see what you create for this challenge!

Let's see what all the other wonderful poobahs have come up with for this challenge.

Deena here - I took this picture of my mom and my daughter on our Alaskan cruise last summer...I love this picture (plus it was just as good as the one they were selling on the cruise for $8 a print and lost when my mom went to purchase it)  - lo and behold - I had the exact same pose in my candid shots on my camera - wahoozle, off to the print factory I went!

Kristen here
I did some photoshop playing with a photo I took last weekend. We were up north in Upper Peninsula Michigan. I took a walk down an old railroad track that was removed and turned into a snowmobile trail. I added some type and my photo that I took of myself with my super long false eyelashes. I then added some text and there you have it. The road less traveled, always a good way to go!

Gini here
Ever found yourself caught between a rock and a hard place?
When was the last time you tried the latest crazy diet that didn't work?
Well this lady definitely wishes she read the small print because she really wasn't expecting this on day 4 of her new diet.

Click on her rocks to make them bigger (snigger).

Well I can tell you that this challenge nearly made me give up the glue. Boo Hoo.
I never use photo's or do scrap booking, it does not appeal to me at all to make it myself, and I tried all week to come up with something scrapbooky with a photo I took of a pebble sculpture years ago in Ilfracoombe harbour.
But I could not manage anything AT ALL.

In the end I gave up and cut out the pebble sculpture and made a person out of it, so I have used part of a photo I took after all - hooray!
The arms didn't look very arm like, so a made a handbag to try and give you a clue that hey, these really are arms, honest.
Hmm.

Happy Creating with Bournville Old Jamaica Rum and Raisin dark chocolate, my favourite yum! So much nicer than rocks...

Jana  here I used this as an excuse to delay getting the laundry done. (Do you REALLY ever need an excuse?!?!) I recently got a free digital scrapbook kit. I am moving toward digi scrapping. And this is the perfect challenge for me right now.

I have the details about this kit, where and how to get it, how I changed a few things to get what I needed from it, over at Studio 3 Twelve.

Rosemary here - better late than never (computer issues) and I have two projects to share.  One is a little tag with a nostalgic feel and a photo freebie.

The other is a scrapbook layout of my husband on vacation (from several years ago).  Quite a different feel from the tag!

Challenge #137. Red Hot.

Jana here and it's my turn again to challenge you all. With the hot summer that we have had, I immediately thought of RED HOT. I would love to see what you can do with RED and ONE OTHER COLOR.

Well, you would think that I would make something a little more summery, but I didn't. I was working on some projects for Halloween, so was inspired to make a skeleton project.

I painted one of those canvas boards crimson RED and glued on a BLACK glittered skeleton. Cuz who doesn't like a little bling... I plan on displaying her (Yup, it's a girl.) just like this.

Let's see what all the other wonderful poobahs have come up with for this challenge.

Electra   here
Is it hot where you are?  It's hot here, one day and the next day, I have the fireplace on.  I don't even know what to say. But rather than think about the temperature, I've decided to create a steamy bundle of mad passion. (The only place you'll find any in my life is here at OG.)  Here's hoping your life is full of passion and lots of heat.  ;-)

Deena here - I found this challenge super hard...never work in just one colour and I find red one of the hardest...but here is my attempt (had to have a little green in the centre of the flower, but otherwise I "followed the rules"...not quite sure if this is too summery for a Christmas card or what yet, but I will have to find a use for it somewhere....

Kristen here with a very clean and simple card. I generated the "snarky" text on my computer. I love puns!!! the mower stamp is from AMuse stamps. I layered with some red paper. I am not as Red Hot as my counterparts here, but that is what makes it so fun to play here at the Order... it is all about fun and open to interpretation. Have a great week!!!

Gini here

Oh My Goodness haven't the Olympic Games in London been spectacular and completely RED HOT with absolutely amazing daily athletic feats.
I'm so proud to be British right now because the British crowds in London and at every other Olympic venue around England supported every single athlete competing through all their triumphs and tears, I'm still totally fizzing with it all!

I loved it all but I adore adore ADORE the team synchronized swimming event the best, Britain swam a wonderful Peter Pan but the Spanish team totally blew me away with their fabulous Ocean routine, their dazzling mirrored silver costumes were spectacular in the water and made their performance truly breath taking.

Oh my, the shiny shiny costumes of the swimmers are incredible in their own right and are only beaten by the rhythmic gymnastic costumes which are even more sumptuous!
Here is a link to some fab photos of the swimming costumes
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2186619/London-2012-Synchronised-swimmers-bring-beauty-pool-compete-Olympic-title.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

So as I sat and watched the athletics I knitted little dresses suitable for cards and mixed media which I admit are woefully poor as a tribute to the amazing and marvellous costumes of those two Olympic Events but anyway here is my red hot shiny dress in celebration.
It's 9cm tall and I've plans for a canvas celebrating the games but can't decide yet how big to do it and how many dresses to use.

I will do a post on my blog on Monday giving the knitting pattern I created for them and some more details but today (Sunday) I will be glued to the T.V. on the last day of the Olympics and the farewell ceremony.

Rosemary here and originally I thought - I love the "idea" of a red only challenge but then I panicked and thought I couldn't do it.  But this is Opus Gluei and we never say never or can't or anything like that.  We're gung-ho, full throttle, give it a whirl kind of gals!  So, once I started playing I almost couldn't stop.  Now I have four cards to share with you - two kind of clean and simple (I struggle with it) and two Christmas ones.  All with RED RED RED as their primary color. (for more details, please see my blog)

You have until the end of Saturday 25 August to join in with your fabulous creation celebrating the colour red. Add your blog post address to Mr Linky below.
